The indie-folk duo integrates their background as classical chamber musicians with folk music leanings to create an intricate instrumental sound around tight vocal harmonies. For our third full length album, Damsel – Live from Sycamore, we brought the studio to us, mixing in the moment as chamber musicians. Whereas our previous album enjoyed all the bells and whistles studio production has to offer, this project celebrates a more sincere and intimate documentation of our sound. More than a live album, this is an invitation to join us in the room where we create, sculpt and perform our music. The songwriting concept that evolved over the past 5 years dives deeper into Beth and Monica’s individual and collective female psyche. Themes include domestic identity, relationships, family, ancestry, nature, aging, friendship, activism and love. 


Damsel has performed on iconic stages in the U.S. including Club Passim, The Bitter End, Jalopy, Le Poisson Rouge and Rockwood Music Hall. Over the course of multiple tours in Ireland the duo performed at DeBarra’s Folk Club, Whelan’s, Levis’ Corner House, The Sugar Club, Bello Bar, Fennelley’s and Hawk’s Well Theatre and on festivals Another Love Story and Fuddlefest.
